Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My iphone fails to receive text messages unless someone calls me. Then I get flooded with all the messages I didn't receive before. I've updated my OS, turned imessage off and on, deleted old conversations, restarted my phone repeatedly, all to no avail. Please help.

I see from your post that your iPhone doesn't receive messages until you receive a call. You've already done some great troubleshooting steps, so next I suggest that you go through the steps outlined below.
Sign out and back in to iMessage and FaceTime
- Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
- Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
- On your iPhone first, sign back in to iMessage and Facetime.
- Sign back in to iMessage and Facetime on your other devices.
Reset your network settings
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Back up and restore your device
Use iTunes or iCloud to back up your content, then restore your device.
