How to turn off decreased performance state when not plugged in?

I recently purchased a new Macbook Pro. One issue I have noticed is that it runs slower when not plugged in (presumably to conserve battery). On previous operating systems, there was an option in the energy saver to turn off this automatic 'running slower state when on battery' but I can not seem to find this option anymore. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

Users have reported that there are situations where a MacBook Pro connected to the power adapter, when asked to do stressful computation, will use the full power provided by the power adapter and also "borrow" power from the battery to complete the task at full speed, heat build-up permitting.

You may be running into a situation where your computations are not possible at full speed on battery power alone.
