iPod classic doesnt switch on

Hello,

I bought my iPod Classic 80Gb from USA in 2007. I didnt use it much since I bought an iPhone. So much so I didnt charge my iPod for the last one year. Now when I try to charge the same it doesnt show any signs of life. I have kept it on charging all over the night, still didnt see any response next morning.

Please can you suggest what I should do now?

Note - I have tried charging using a Windows PC as well as direct charging from power socket.
