How do I separate duplicate tracks so that I can edit them separately?

I am using Logic Pro X, and need to be able to play with the form of the song as part of my composing process. I duplicated the rhythm guitar track into a brand new track, so that I could edit it and play with it in that track, while still preserving the original take. I locked the original so that there would be no mistake. Logic wont let me edit one without editing the other as well. They seem to be inseparable, even though I created them as separate tracks originally, then copied the content from one and pasted it into the other. Is there a way to separate these two tracks so that they can be individually edited?

Thank you!
