Q: Upgrade a 13" Early 2011 MBP to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1

I know my mac isn't under Apple's "supported by Windows 10" list, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any problems or success upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1 on a 13" Early 2011 MBP. Thanks!

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

If you use Option key, there should be two options Windows and EFI Boot. Can you choose Windows?

I have never seen the word Windows written in there . . . only EFI both for the USB Stick or the Windows partition

You should see 3 or 4 options. Macintosh HD, Recovery HD, Windows and EFI Boot (the last two are from the USB with the USB Symbol).

I only have MAC (renamed from Macintosh HD), EFI (2nd HDD) and EFI (USB symbol)

Can you insert this disk and post the output of

    diskutil list

    sudo fdisk /dev/diskN

N points to the USB which is shown in the output of the first command.

Your Mac (2011) does not really support USB booting, so we will see such issues. Let us see what you get from the above two commands.

Maybe it only supports EFI boot.

Can you post the file structure for the USB from Finder? It should look similar to the following.
