Can I use my student financial aid to pay for devices?

I am enrolling to the Academy of Art University, and my current computer is not adequate enough for what I'd be going to school for, especially since I will be taking online classes. I was planning on trying to get a MacBook Pro for college on my own, but haven't been able to make the money, so I was wondering if I could use my college financial aid to pay for a device, such as the MacBook Pro. I talked to someone from the school and they aren't entirely sure, and they suggested asking Apple, and here I am. If possible, I also planned on getting an iPad as well.
