Headphone-output not working

Hello,

I've got a problem with my macbook Pro 2011. For almost a year now I've not been able to use my headphone-output. When I put my headphone all the way in, I do not hear anything. When I put my volume to the max, I hear a 'crisping' sound.

I hope someone can help me with this major issue.

Cheers

Also, it might just be that it does detect it, but it hasn't actually switched over to that as a default. Try the following:

System Preferences>Sound>Output>Check to see if it detects the device

If that doesn't work, try using the headphones on your phone or another output device. See if it's the headphones or the computer that is causing the audio problem.
