No sure what happened but it seems my font on Safari recently is very light and thin and I'd like to change it. I'm using Safari 7.1.8 on my Mac. When I googled a solution everyone references going to the Preferences in Safari and click on the appearances tab but the problem is I don't seem to have an appearance tab when I go there. Solution?

Yes I tried the advanced settings tab but there was nothing in there about changing the font / size.
You can't change the font in Safari, but you when you go to the Advanced pane in your Preferences, you can request that Safari not use font sizes smaller than a specific number. I have mine set to 9. You need to remember that Safari is not like Firefox, which does allow that kind of customization. What you get with Safari is what you get.

The problem is that the fonts never used to show up this thin and light before. It used to be fine, something has recently changed. It seems it is new this past week, for example it is ultra thin in my yahoo.com email account and a few other sites I visit regularly.
Maybe adjust the magnification of the page by pressing Command +.
Thx Pink, but its not really a size issue its more a case of the fact it somehow is reading as ultra thin typeface from what used to be a regular typeface.
