I just switched computers, and now I find that the new Photos doesn't seem capable of handling RAW photos.
Am I missing something?
If Photos can't handle it, how can I find Open With for the photos I've already shot?

If you are shooting in RAW+JPG, please note that Photos stacks the files (JPG on top; you can verify by looking for a "J" in the lower left corner of the thumbnail). It is possible, though, to use the 'underlying' RAW file for editing: select photo, press Edit, go to Image and choose 'Use RAW as original".
Thanks for that quick reply! My wife and I did a tourist walk in our town, and my specific task was to photograph a number of things she wanted saved. In RAW (I passed on JPEG this time).

It's a Canon SX50HS. I used to run it through a card reader and a Nikon program for loading into the computer. New computer, however, didn't appreciate my card reader (it is pretty old) so I use a cord; and I was told I didn't need the Nikon program as the native Apple software would handle all.
That camera is supported and it looks like lescornwell has figured out the problem for you. Good thing he did as we don't want to get on the wrong side of the wife.

If you use Canon, use either the Canon software (I would never mix Canon & Nikon) or indeed Apple software (e.g. Image Capture). I nowadays transfer all files (RAW+JPG) from camera (or sometimes card reader) through Adobe Bridge/Get Photos from Camera to an external HD. There I split up the file types: the JPGs go into Photos (previously into iPhoto), the RAW remain on external disk and are selectively processed with either Adobe (Camera Raw or Lightroom), Aperture (still doing a good job) or DxO Optics Pro.
Mind you: always keep an up-to-date card reader (these things are amazingly cheap) at hand.
Thanks again, Les. The reason for mixing Nikon and Canon was: we had the Nikon first -- since passed to She Who Must Be Obeyed, because it's easier to use and she's not interested in a 1200mm capability.
Will research more of what the Canon supplied in terms of software. And pick up another card reader . . .
