'The application "QuickTime Player" can't be opened. -36"

This error keeps popping up when I'm trying to watch any .mov video. Also, when I'm trying to watch an .mp4 it will load QuickTime for a second and then tell me "QuickTime Player can't open blahblahblah.mp4."

I'm using a 27" iMac

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
