My iPod touch 5 has suddenly switched off, it shows a blank screen and everytime I turn it on it shows the apple logo then goes off again, tried charging it and holding down the home and lock button at the same time but it hasn't turned on..

It's been on charge for most the day now, still hasn't turned on.. Tried holding down the home and lock button but still no difference, tired turning it on but again still hasn't switched on. Even tried connecting it to my computer but it hasn't recognised the iPod touch 5

Try the remaining items of:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
