ipod connection to wi fi and syncing

I have a six years old touch ipod which has worked well with i tunes until recently.

I downloaded a newer I=i tunes version and in the process lost contact to the ipod.

Now I cant get reconnected and have sync error messages 13010, 13014 and itunes error message 0X8000084.

Can anyone help ?
