Problem sharing calendar on new device

My wife and I share two iCloud calendars. She just got her first iPhone (5c) and I tried to share the calendars with her on that device, but when we log in to iCloud to complete the share it says that she is "already a participant of this calendar." I can't see any way to add the shared calendar to her phone.
