Why are some songs cut off on iPhone when I shuffle a playlist?

I have some songs that start up and then suddenly another song comes on. I searched for the specific song just now and played it which plays the entire song, not just the first five seconds. This is irritating, suddenly I can't have some songs playing when I shuffle the playlist, why is this?
