To find out for sure what is going wrong, take the MacBook Pro and MagSafe charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test your system to see what is happening.

I would first try some simple troubleshootingApple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters - Apple Support and see if that helps. But it is more likely that the system needs to be tested by the techs since it was dropped.
