hi all,


anyone have any ideas,links or advice for maintaining the charger for a macBook pro Retina 13in


the plastic insulation just seems to break down over time... is this just accepted by users or are there solutions? .. other than being "a diligent apple user"

There should be one more paragraph in that article, about winding the DC cord:


First, make an arbitrary loop in the air about 1 to 2 inches (50 to 100 mm) in diameter, THEN wind the cord around the ears, taking care to not pull too tightly. This randomizes the point of first contact of the cord to the ears, reducing a common source of DC cord failure.

you can also add more tape to act as a strain relief in the areas you see the most stress. This will keep the cord from flexing as much in those areas, and extend its life.
