Issues importing videos

To start, I have uploaded videos before, without any issue. I just downloaded 12.2.2.25 (newest) itunes, on a Toshiba running W7. I tried to upload a series of videos to the itunes library following the standard procedure, to have itunes delete the folder or files, and then tell me it cannot find them. I have power cycled the machine, cycled itunes, even cycled the ipad I'm trying to put movies on. Anyone else experience this?
