There are no 'advanced tools' in iMovie 10. The 'picture in picture' facility allows you to add a second movie, either in a frame or side by side. For details see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/mova1aaa682b and http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/movb8c659f55 respectively.
