currentversion.fcpproject file not recognized

Question

currentversion.fcpproject file not recognized

Hey all, I have been interested in opening an old 'currentversion.fcpproject' from my external hard drive since I have recently purchased Final Cut Pro 10.2 for my new mac, however, FCP is not recognizing it.

I have read about similar quandaries but still havent been able to get my file to be recognized. If anybody knows what is going on or how I can fix this please let me know!

I have added a screenshot of my finder for you to see where it is in my folders if helps.

TThat helps a lot. It also means the project file is ruined. It's supposed to be inside a folder that has the name of the project, which in turn is inside a folder called Final Cut Projects. There should also be another folder called Final Cut Events with a folder with an event name that holds your actual media. Where is all that stuff?

Unfortunately, I think I moved it out of all of those folders and put it into one of my own. I did not realize that they had an impact on my ability to retrieve the file info. Can I simply create a folder with the name of the project and the Final Cut Projects folder or do they have to be the original ones?

Actually, I happened to find a backup that seems to be untouched, however it still will not let me enter the Final Cut Events or Final Cut Projects folder when I try to update project folders. Here are the screenshots.
