ICS invitation update not reflected in iphone email & calendar

I recieve an email with a .ics invitation, I open it from email, and accept it.

It is added into my iphone-linked GCAL.

All good.

Sender then updates the invite time on their system and I receive a new .ics.

When I open this new .ics from the email on my iphone, it still has the original date/time shown - wrong!!

I cannot update the date time, nor delete the orignial invitation from my GCAL linked calendar.

When I open this .ics in my mail account via the web, it has the correct new time shown.

If I accept it on the web, everything works fine.

This is clearly not a sender issue ( the sender's .ics is correctly configured and I can add it correctly via web).

It is clearly an iphone .ics processing issue.

What setting do I need to change on my iphone 5S with ios 8.4.1. to make sure that updated ics invitations actually show correctly, and so that I can accept them?

Please fix/advise.

Thank you

I have the same exact issue.

someone sends me an invite from outlook.

I recieve the .ics and it appears in on my iphone's calendar.

However when the person changes the calendar item to another time I recieve a new .ics file and the changes do not reflect on the iphone.

it seems more users have this issue so it must be a problem.

Is there a fix avaialble for this?

thanks for your help.

It is now October, & I'm on 9.0.2.... but ... no change to the issue

To recap...

Scenario:

I create a calendar entry and invite someone.

They respond with "New Time Proposed" from their calendar.

There seems no way to "accept" their proposal, iCal will not update, and revised times are not sent to all original invitees.

This seems rather basic missing functionality folks (which I notice has been mentioned many times in many fora).

Please can you fix it?

Thanks

N.B. A very manual workaround:

Open the attached .ics in their email "proposal", using "Quick view".

Manually note their date/time change proposed.

Open my "Calendar".

Manually change my original appointment to their proposed new time in my calendar.

Save.

(Ooops..."Calendar" does not resend changes to invitees!!)

Delete all invitees from my invitation.

Add same invitees again to my invitation.

Save my updated Calendar entry again.

.... Finally everyone gets an updated entry in their calendar.

(Repeat until brain frazzled...)
