Macbook Air + Windows 7 and German umlauts

Hi,

Unfortunately I couldn't get my progs running on Mac and had to switch to Windows. I have a Macbook Air with Windows 7 installed and am wondering how to get the German characters work on the keyboard. With the Mac it was simply option + the character but this doesn't seem to work anymore. Thankx!
