in my settings it says keep my messages forever, where are they

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.
I see you have a question based on how long your message history is stored. The history is saved on your iPhone, and you can view your previous message history by either searching Messages, or scrolling back through the history.
What options do I have for keeping messages?
You can keep messages forever, for one year, or for 30 days. Go to Settings > Messages > Keep Messages to make your choice.
