... because the drivers for that Mac and the hardware have not been certified by Apple with Windows 10. The hardware is 6+ years old. It is the same reason many want W10, not W7 (released 2009) on their Macs. 😉
No one knows if a future release of OSX will enable older Macs or not.

Many have tried and have been able to install W10 on older unsupported Macs. You can create a good baseline backup, and test the upgrade and document any issues for others to use. If you need assistance, please post back on this discussion.
