Why do apps take so long to download now?

Hi,

I am getting frustrated at how long apps take to download. I have an iPhone 6 Plus, about 6 - 8 Mbs internet speed and 60mb apps take about 25 minutes to download. I have one 60mb app downloading at the moment 40 mins and only halfway through! When I had my iPhone 5 years ago it took a few seconds to download an app. Its not the phone as other 6 pluses and various iPads also take this long. Is this an issue with Apples servers?
