I have apps to update, but do not let me do it, when I press update just open the app

Question

I have 8 apps to update

Do not let me update them and when I press update take me to the App and opens them.

I just have one that says "waiting" but does not stop

Try a forced restart: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the restart.
Tap the "waiting" app from the home screen to pause it, then download another app (any free app will do).
sign out than back in to your AppleID (Settings > iTunes and App Store).
