How do I find the license to upgrade my Logic Pro 9.0.0?

I bought this Classic MacBook in 2010. It had Logic Pro 9 pre installed. I am trying to update the program not upgrade. I cant because its asking for a registration number I dont have. what do I do?

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You have to get the serial number from the previous owner. If you don't have that, you're screwed.

If 9.0.0 will run, you can find the serial number on the "about logic" window under the logic pro menu.
