Upgrades available at Apple Retail Stores for MBP?

I have a MBP 2.0GHz, 1gig Ram, and 100GB HD

However, I use paralells, and have bootcamp. Both of which are eating major portions of my HD. I was looking into upgrading both RAM and HD, but didn't know where I could get this done. I don't want to do anything out of Apple or their Retail stores b/c I had my warranty on a previous Mac revoked b/c an Apple certified service place screwed stuff up, causing the logic board to short 3 months later.

Any one know what options I have? I've seen places online to buy upgrade parts, but I am NOT voiding my warranty by openning the computer...

Open to any suggestions..

Thanks,
SG

You can buy memory from an Apple Retail Store and pay them to install it. However, memory IS a user installable part, and you can get a much better price online. Installation takes about 2 minutes. Even a beginner can do it.

The hard drive, on the other hand, is not a user installable part. I'm not sure if an Apple Genius will install a larger drive for you for a fee (though I am sure that they will). Again, you will pay a premium.

Some folks have reported success with this company:

for overnight hard drive upgrades.

Or you could use an external for your Parallels images (which is what I do).

Good luck.
