How can i unlock my HDD?

Hi there,

I formate my Macbookpro HDD i got a problem that is when i start my laptop it shows that i have to put the HDD password and i really want to unlock it please help me and tell me how can i unlock it.

I think you encrypted your hard drive when installing Yosemite. See How to bypass FileVault when you restart your Mac | MacIssues and Use FileVault to encrypt the startup disk on your Mac.


If you cannot gain access to the drive, then you need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. During the installation pay close attention because encryption is an installer default. When that option comes up you will need to opt out of encryption or provide a password when requested. Write it down so you don't forget it.
