My mother passed away and I want to download all of her iphone and ipad information onto my laptop. Is this possible? I am using a windows laptop. I don't want to lose any of the information, and don't want to link it to my account. I have a few ipads and ipods in my family.

What "information", exactly, are you trying to get? Assuming you know the passcode, transferring photos shouldn't be a problem. Beyond that, contacts, calendar, notes, etc. should be retrievable from whatever she was syncing them with.
You will need evidence like receipts that show she was the legitimate owner of the equipment along with a certified copy of the death certificate. Take the documents and the hardware to your local Apple Store where they can assist you.
If you have her Apple ID and password, then you need not do any of the above.
Great! I am not sure if my Dad has the receipt, but the do have the passcode, and he is getting the death certificate. I don't think they actually backed anything up to their computers...ever, so I think this would be the best option. Thanks!!!
