Hi GWH52,
I am not sure why iTunes is saying you are not connected to the internet, but let's see if we can get it back on.
First start with taking a look at the article below. It will cover issue with connecting to the iTunes Store as that is needed to purchase content. It will have a section just for Windows looking at host files and security software that may be preventing access.
