What filters should I apply to blown out dialogue?
I have some dialogue that is blown out. I know there is no real fix for it.....that said.....what filters might I want to try in FCP X to mitigate the damage?
There's nothing you can do except reduce the level or normalize it. The distortion and clipping of digital audio files cannot be improved or mitigated.
In the olden days, we'd try to hide the audio guy's screwups a bit by adding lots of loud room tone, a passing ambulance, or some clapping.
