Q: Clone my Mac remotely. Possible?

Hello,

I have a rather odd question. I will be traveling soon and I want to buy myself a new MacBook pro to replace my old one. The thing is that since I will be backpacking and for other reason I don't want to travel with both computers. So I was wondering if there is anyway I can connect remotely from my new MacBook to my old one and clone it so I can keep working with all my files and software while I am travelling?

I know there are other options like shipping my old computer back, but I prefer only be with 1 computer at all times.
