Netflix has recently changed their Browse format. when I open Netflix, it asks me to upgrade my browser. When I choose to upgrade Safari (mine is version 5.1.1), the Apple store shows that their are no new upgrades for Safari. My Imac is OSX 10.6.8. Is there a safe way to upgrade Safari from the web?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You need to download a later version of OS X to get a newer Safari version in this case. For $20, you can get Lion (10.7): http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion or Mountain Lion (10.8): http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion.


If you want to go all the way to Yosemite (10.10), you can download it for free from the Mac App Store.
