Is this issue covered by warranty?

Apple's warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.

Glass breakage is generally not covered. It did not appear to be defective when it was inspected in the factory, and is broken now. How it got that way is not Apple's problem.

Keep in mind that 10 of the last 100 people seen in your Apple store may have also told the Genius that theirs broke spontaneously as well, despite the dent in the lid nearby.

Whether your glass broke spontaneously or due to trauma really makes no difference,

an email from client manager of apple store provides the maintenance cost but does not provide the conclusion basis:

1. According to Apple's engieerer team's own conclusion, in a word- assumption: "There is a thump point inside the screen" -- Please provide photo or conclusion proof, as there is not any thump evidence on exterior shell and exterior screen. How can a customer give a thump on interior screen without any means to open up an integrated machine? Can the possibility of invisible hidden defficiency injured during the manufacturing process be excluded?

2. "Mesh shape divergent mark" -- This mark is the result, rather than the liability reason which leads to the result.

3. "Interior screen damage is confirmed not to fall within limited warranty scope for free maintenance." --As I emphasized for several times, this conclusion in not included in Apple's warranty clause. Any unexpected damage as usual usual using caused shall not be uncovered by warranty clause directly.

This case's focal point between "thump" and "responsibility". If Apple can't prove the "thump"'s happening is customer's "responsibility" directly, they can't refuse the warrany with their guessing.

I can't agree no possibility to got this issue after the factory inspection.

One possible way: some safety parts may not be installed properly, but it passed inspection. The wrong installation caused the inner LED couldn't defense normal using's pressure.

Same conclusion comes from the LED glass size, too large to maintain a safe range under the shell.

They send your Mac out to a depot, and the depot puts it back in "showroom condition" (except for dents and scratches) whatever that takes, for a flat fee. They send along a "laundry list" of problems, and the depot will address them all.

It may need store manager approval, but unusual repairs like yours are a prime candidate for this treatment.

The downside is that it can take a week, and if you get unlucky, a little longer.
