Photos are hiding?

I recently turned off my photo stream to try something and when I turned it back on, over 10,000 photos and videos disappeared. I go to my usage and it says they are there, but they aren't showing up in my Photos. How do I get them back? The high res version is set up to be in the cloud, but I don't want to lose all of those photos. Can somebody help me? I don't want to try resetting anything in case I risk the few photos I have left.
