My macbook pro stopped recognizing my canon camera

Recently my macbook has stopped picking up my canon camera when it is plugged in to the USB port.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Does the USB port recognize other peripherals like an iPhone (including it photos) and hard drives?

Does the camera show in Image Capture?

Show in Disk Utility?

Shows under USB in System Profiler?

Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM
