Songs won't disappear from iPhone

Hi, I'm on a macbook pro (2014) with OS 10.10.4 using iTunes 12.2.1.16 and I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 8.4.1. I tried to delete some songs from my phone a few months ago using the iTunes app, but they won't go away. They don't show up on the music app on my phone, but they show up in iTunes even after I delete them. They appear whenever I unplug my phone then plug it back in. In the iTunes app they appear as if they are trying to sync to my phone but they don't load. I've deleted them several times but they always come back, I've tried almost everything short of restoring my phone which I'd prefer not to do if possible. I don't even have the songs in my iTunes library anymore, I've even tried hiding the album in my iTunes account settings. Help?
