H final cut pro x - will the 09 mac support it?

I have a mac book pro 09 - I want to install the latest version of Final Cut Pro (up til now just been using imovie)

i'll be editing in 4k and was wondering if the 09 mac will support the new Final Cut?

You'll need to install Yosemite, as the current version does not work on older OS.

How much RAM do you have (while it may start with 4GB, 8GB is considered the minimum for decent work)?

Another problem is the drive - you need a fast external drive, and with a 2009 mac the fastest you can get is probably FW800.

Performance will probably not be great, and I wouldn't recommend such an old mac for 4K work, but...
