How to stop receiving wrongly sent Verify Your Apple ID emails

my email address is for example xyz77@gmail.com and someone has created an Apple ID with the email xyz.77@gmail.com (please do note the extra . Between xyz and 77) and now I keep on receiving at least a dozen mails asking me to verify the Apple ID. Is there anyway to stop receiving these annoying mails? Please do help.
