games using background data
All the new games on the app store uses a lot of data in the background inspite of it being an offline game. What is the reason for it and how can i stop it from using data both on cellular and wifi

I understand that you have a concerns on your games using cellular data. It will hard to tell you the reason why but I can tell you how to stop apps from having issues connecting the the internet over cellular data.
Navigate to Settings > Cellular on your iPhone and scroll down to the section for that says Use Cellular Data For: and find the games in questions. Then just toggle the switch off and the games will not use cellular data.

If you do not want the apps to use any data while on Wi-Fi, then you will need to turn off Wi-Fi or turn on Airplane Mode.
