Q: Customer solution and Apple works
10.10.5 I have been using Apple computers since 1998. I have been without Apple works since the arrival of OS X and I still Cannot find a suitable replacement for the drawing component of what was Apple works, I Would be more than happy to pay for a program that does just what Apple Works did ! Nothing does the same things, We did site drawing on Apple works that were acceptable to council. We created adverts for papers and flyers. We were able to duplicate the layout of our shop to see how store layouts could work for us. We could copy and paste from one design to another. Why has Appleworks not been upgraded or sold to a new developer or at the very least have it somehow work within iWork. I just want this program back. I do fully appreciate Apples other great tools any equipment e.g. iMac's, MacBooks, iPhones, iPads, iPods, Apple watch, Apple TV and every thing else Apple but to me I would be so excited to see an Apple event announcement that a re-released Appleworks or Claris Works or really fixed up iWork was to be sold or mad available through the Apple store. Appleworks is as important as any of Apple's Apps, I would be happy sacrifice nearly any App to have this valuable Tool back on my computers line up of tools. I need it back.
Apple users, if you read this please post and you support my carry on, please back me up with a show of support and your thought's, it's been a long time and no one has replaced Appleworks with a equaled or bettered that Application. We should fight to have it back. Regards Pryce

Like Harold, I have used Apple since OS6. I have created thousands of worksheets in AppleWorks Draw and Paint and have even written a couple of books in the Word Processor. I do not believe that Apple really discussed with anyone when they dumped AppleWorks for the iWork suite which was a slap in the face. When one looks at iWorks Pages, the bloat of Microsoft Word is obvious and just as useless.
My solution while I was still working (since retired), was to format an external hard drive with OS10.6 and AppleWorks. I placed all my AW files, about 50GB on the drive and when I needed something that was already created, I would start from that hard drive.
I have been searching for an alternative for iWork Pages since it first came out mostly seeking the tremendous flexibility that the AppleWorks Draw and Paint tools provided. The closest application I have found is iDraw. People familiar with Draw and Paint will feel comfortable with iDraw although some things like creating animated GIFs (a snap in Draw and Paint) are a challenge. A nice, straightforward word processor can be found in Bean.
