My iphone 5s microphone only works on speaker or with headphones. Have restored software and reset settings..any other possibility before I return it?

My iphone 5s microphone only works on speaker or when headphones are used..I can't make a normal call because nobody can hear me. I have restored the software and reset the settings. Has anybody got any ideas before I return it for replacement?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.4.1

I would suggest trying to record a voice memo if you can play it back to yourself it is not the microphone. If you can't hear yourself set it up for repair.
