Iphone 5s battery issues

So I've been having battery issues with my iphone 5s. More than half of my settlings are turned off as well as I turning off all my apps and closing them. I go into look at what the **** is sucking out my battery and it says messages is using 28% followed by the lock screen at the same percentage in the last 24 hours!? 19% for the home screen and 16% on messages for the last 7 days. Whats the deal? I'd also like to include that this is a replacement phone FOR A REPLACEMENT PHONE that I had to return due to it dying within an hour at full charge. When is apple planning to address these battery issues?
