How to use apple earpods one year warranty

I bought my apple earpods at walmart in june of this year. As i was taking them out of my ipod,the jack came apart of the cord and got stuck in the port. I was able to pull it out of the ipod after awhile. I do not have the reciept from walmart,but i do have the little warranty booklet that came with the box. Can i return them to get new ones with just the little booklet and box?
