iMessage Images "Not Delivered"

Hello,

I recently began have trouble using iMessage from my Mac (OS 10.10.5), while all other iCloud apps and my iPhone work flawlessly. A slutrry of issues presented sporatically such as:

- Texts to all parties indicating not delivered

- Images to all parties indicating not delivered

- Texts only to non-iPhone/iPads not delivered

- Images only to non-iPhone/iPads not delivered

- All non-Apple devices on receiving end marked in red

After trying all the troubleshooting that I knew (log in/out of iCloud, assuring the right settings on all devices, reinstalling OS, disk maintenance) and a few suggestions online (trashing various preferences and more) I finally called Apple for help. The first level tech was unable to help, but the senior tech had me trash some items deep inside the system. After systematically restarting my Mac and iOS devices, it worked. Unfortunately iMessage on my Mac worked fine for a day and now I am back to the inability to send images only (even from Mac to iPhone).

So, what are some of those items to delete in the Library again? I remember "service" preferences, but not where to find them. There were also many others.

Peace,

Dr. Z.

Do a backup.

Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iChat.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.

Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

If that doesn’t work, repeat the above but delete the com.apple.imagent.plist
