Q: I need to activate my iphone 4 or at least bypass the activation screen

I recently bought an iphone 4 from a foreigner. After the phone was shipped to me and i was setting it up I got stuck at "Activate iPhone" screen. I have tried through emails to reach the seller for the account details but to no avail. I have checked numerous sites just to either remove or bypass this "Activation Screen". I was wondering if anyone here can help me remove or bypass the "Activation Screen". I need help?

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.1

There is no way to bypass the activation screen! The device is activation locked. Only the original owner can remove the lock. If you cannot contact the seller for the information or a refund, your device is useless to you. You will never be able to activate it. Apple cannot assist with this.

Nobody on these boards can, and nobody at Apple will. If you bought it through a service such as Amazon or eBay, ask the people running it for a refund.

If nobody on these boards can assist perhaps do you know of any boards or softwares outside there that can help since refunding is no longer an option as my seller is not responding to my mails. It feels like i have thrown my money into the refuse dump

I'm sorry to say you have thrown your money in the dump. This is an anti-theft device and if there was a way of bypassing it there would be no point in having it in the first place. There are some sites which claim to be able to bypass it, but they don't actually give you any functionality. And even if there was a site which did actually have a method - very highly unlikely - we wouldn't be allowed to discuss it on these forums anyway, for fairly obvious reasons.

If the seller is not responding, chances are you have a stolen device.
