I have damaged the headphone socket on my iPad Air. I keep reading that you access your music via the lightening socket, but I cannot find any information as to what cables to use.
iPad Air Wi-Fi, iOS 7.0.4
What I'd think of is something like this
aa charger/dock that you plug your iPad into.
Go onto Amazon and search for 'ipad docks' and see if there's anything there that may work for you

I Really need a cable to connect the lightening socket to an amplifier, as I need to play music in a large hall, so a dock would not be sufficient. Is there a cable/combination of cables I could use?
If you find a dock that has an output socket that you can plug the 1/8th inch convert to 1/4 inch plug (usually headphone plugs are 1/8th inch but the amp likely wants 1/4 inch.
I don't think the lightning plug itself will output sound, it needs to pass through something.

You could try a Bluetooth speaker.
The thing is, I already have an amplifier, so am trying to reduce costs. I'm not sure a Bluetooth speaker would be powerful enough, to be honest. i've been told that digital sound is available through the lightening socket, which is why I was wondering if there were a cable I could use to access it.
