When sharing photos via email, or attaching them to email, they appear only as thumbnails regardless of the image size selected. The recipient receives only thumbnails. I use a mid-2011 MacBook Air, Yosemite 10.10.5, and the latest Photos. How can I control the image size when emailing?
Well, when in the Mail program, don't forget to have a look at, and if need be, change this (right top of screen):
Gee, looks like you did try that... Responded too quickly, I'm sorry.
In that case (exchange with PC user perhaps?), I would export from Photos at the size you want, and attach to your mail. That way you can precisely define what you are sending off (say, pictures with a maximum longest side of 1024px)
Size is set in two different places - verify that teach is what you want
1 - when you initially create the email using PHotos
2 - in the Mail compose window on the right just above the image
either one will reduce the image
