Q: folder with a question mark ; won't let me sign into wifi

i had the folder with a question mark. i held the command and R and it led to the globe to sign into wifi. But when I entered my wifi information, it wouldn't load, it just has the pending circle.

Folder with question mark says, "I could not find any suitable Boot device in the place you told me to look for it." This means you have lost track of where the boot device is, or your boot device is having some serious trouble.

Getting the Internet Recovery Globe should not occur under normal circumstances -- you should be getting "regular" Recovery, which comes from Recovery_HD partition on your Boot Drive. This may indicate your Boot Drive is badly damaged.

I am not sure why Internet Recovery is not working for you. You could try moving your Mac next to your Router and using an Ethernet cable.
