I have a macbook pro and am looking into upgrading it for gaming. What is the best way to go about doing this?

A Macbook Air cannot have the RAM nor CPU changed since they are integral to the logic board. Your alternative is to purchase a MBA with a faster CPU and more RAM or a Macbook Pro with better specifications than what you have now.
The best option if games are a top priority is a PC. All Mac notebooks are inferior game machines.
